What does an OCDEA do?
An On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor models the energy performance of a new dwelling using the approved calculation methodology. The work supports the design and as-built evidence needed for energy compliance, and the production of a new-build EPC.
At design stage, assessors work from drawings and specifications. As construction progresses, they update the assessment to reflect changes. At completion, the as-built specification and supporting evidence inform the final calculation and EPC. Building Control remains responsible for its own approval decisions.
Qualifications and software
You need a recognised OCDEA qualification or an accepted Approved Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) outcome before you can be accredited. Kaizen does not sell OCDEA training courses.
Kaizen supports SAP 10.2 onwards; SAP 2012 software and lodgements are not supported. Contact the team to confirm the approved software and methodology for your project, including any transitional arrangements.
