The right level for the building
Non-Domestic Energy Assessors assess the fabric, building services and energy performance of properties such as offices, shops and other commercial premises. They produce an EPC and recommendations using the appropriate approved software.
Level 3 and Level 4 have different competence boundaries. Building services and assessment complexity determine the appropriate level; floor area or the building’s name alone does not. Check the scope with our technical team before accepting work outside your usual experience.
Joining the NDEA scheme
Provide evidence of the relevant Level 3 and/or Level 4 qualification or accepted APEL route. We review competence, identity, previous accreditation where relevant, and suitable professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Once accredited, you must work within your registered strand and level, use the current conventions and retain sufficient evidence to support the assessment.
